Journalist
Kathryn is an investigative reporter and writer based in San Francisco.
She has covered domestic extremism, the foster care system, and troubled rehab facilities, focusing on how institutions shape people's lives. Her work has appeared in ProPublica, the Los Angeles Times, and PBS FRONTLINE.
Currently, she is a reporter at UC Berkeley's Investigative Reporting Program, where she uncovers systemic issues in child welfare.
In 2021, she was the recipient of a George Polk Award for her reporting in the PBS documentary American Insurrection. She has a master's degree in journalism from Berkeley.
